Xiaomi 18 Pro Series launch date announced: Check design, display and key details

Xiaomi is set to launch its Xiaomi 18 Pro series in China on September 23, with the company expected to introduce the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The launch event will begin at 7 pm local time, or 4:30 pm IST.

Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi has revealed several details about the upcoming flagship lineup, including its design, colour options, display technology and upgraded rear screen. The company has also introduced a new hardware-level privacy display, which is built into the display panel rather than requiring an external privacy film.

Xiaomi 18 Pro series launch date and time

Xiaomi confirmed through its official Weibo account that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will launch in China on September 23 at 7 pm local time. The event will begin at around 4:30 pm IST.

The lineup is expected to include two models: the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Xiaomi so far teased at least three colour options: Black, White and Starry River Blue.

Xiaomi 18 Pro design and rear display

The Xiaomi 18 Pro series will retain a secondary screen on the rear, similar to its predecessor. However, Xiaomi is giving the updated feature a new name – “Versatile Back Screen” (translated from Chinese). The company has also showcased a micro-arc quad-curved metal frame and extremely narrow 0.99mm bezels around the front display.

The new Starry River Blue colour is another highlight of the design, joining the black and white variants teased by Xiaomi ahead of the launch. One of the major features announced for the Xiaomi 18 Pro series is a hardware-level privacy display.

The company claimed that the display can reach 4,000 nits of peak brightness. Xiaomi also said that it can offer clarity comparable to a 2K-resolution panel while consuming power similar to a 1.5K-resolution display.

Xiaomi 18 Series India launch: What we know

Xiaomi has not yet confirmed an India launch date for the Xiaomi 18 Pro series. According to tipster Debayan Roy (@Gadgetsdata), the Xiaomi 18 series could arrive in India in December 2026.

However, this timeline has not been confirmed by Xiaomi. The company has so far announced only the China launch for September 23, so details about India availability, pricing and final specifications are expected to be revealed separately.
