US-Iran War Live Updates: Iran public broadcaster claims one or more Arab states behind latest strikes
Strikes hit southern Iran, including near Bushehr nuclear facility. US denies involvement. Israel threatens more action. Conflict widens to Gaza, Lebanon.

US-Iran War Live Updates: Renewed strikes have hit multiple sites across southern Iran, including locations near the Bushehr nuclear facility, according to local officials and state media. Explosions were also reported in Bandar Abbas, Mehr News Agency said.
A US official told Al Jazeera that the American military was not responsible for the latest strikes. The official maintained that technical talks with Tehran were continuing despite three days of escalating military exchanges, even after President Donald Trump said earlier in the week that the truce with Iran was “over”.
The renewed violence came as mourners gathered in Mashhad on Thursday for the burial of Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a joint US-Israeli strike on 28 February, the first day of the war on Iran.
Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, said the country’s military remained prepared to strike Iran again. “The army is ready and on alert for a resumption of fighting, in order to regain air superiority and strike Iran again, to eliminate threats, including a third time if necessary,” he said.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces have continued their operations against Gaza and Lebanon, adding to the widening scope of the conflict.
The combination of unexplained strikes on Iranian soil, denials of US involvement, and Israel’s explicit threat of further action underscores the fragility of the truce Trump had declared over just days earlier. With Khamenei’s burial concluding and technical talks reportedly still under way, the situation remains highly fluid, with attribution for the latest attacks still unclear.
