US-Iran War Live Updates: White House envoy Steve Witkoff is en route to Switzerland for expected talks with Iran on a possible nuclear deal, Axios reported. Another Trump envoy, Jared Kushner, is already there, though it remains unclear when the delayed negotiations will get underway.

US-Iran War Live updates: Efforts to revive talks between the United States and Iran over a possible nuclear agreement are set to resume in Switzerland after plans for Friday’s meeting were disrupted by the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. According to Axios’ Barak Ravid, White House envoy Steve Witkoff is travelling to Switzerland, while President Donald Trump’s other envoy, Jared Kushner, has already arrived there. A senior US official said it remains unclear when the talks will begin.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said discussions with US officials had been pushed back and indicated that any progress towards a final deal would depend on how both sides carry out commitments contained in a recently signed memorandum of understanding.
The diplomatic push comes as a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah took effect at 4 p.m. local time on Friday. Reuters, citing a senior US official, reported that the truce was put together by American and Qatari mediators with backing from Iran, offering a chance to calm tensions that had escalated in recent weeks.
Some measures linked to the understanding are already being rolled out. Washington has removed restrictions that had blocked maritime traffic linked to Iran, reopening shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Even so, people familiar with the discussions said several unresolved issues could complicate the process. Reports indicate Israel remains opposed to parts of the arrangement and intends to keep forces deployed in areas of southern Lebanon.
