Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd reported a strong performance for the September quarter of FY27, with consolidated net profit rising 43.8% year-on-year to ₹243 crore, compared with ₹169 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Revenue surged 45.5% to ₹1,760 crore from ₹1,210 crore a year earlier, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 26.9% to ₹491 crore, against ₹387 crore in the year-ago quarter.
However, EBITDA margin contracted to 28% from 32% in the corresponding quarter last year, indicating that profitability growth lagged the pace of revenue expansion.
Shares of Gujarat Fluorochemicals were trading at ₹4,477.70 on the BSE at 3:04 pm, up 3.59% or ₹155.30 following the earnings announcement.
Company proposes ₹600 crore investment in EV subsidiary
Separately, Gujarat Fluorochemicals has proposed an investment of up to ₹600 crore in the securities of GFCL EV Products Ltd, a material subsidiary of the company.
The proposed investment is subject to shareholder approval, as it falls within the materiality threshold under Regulation 23 of the SEBI Listing Regulations. The company has made the disclosure under Regulation 30 of the Listing Regulations.
GFCL EV Products is part of the group’s electric vehicle-focused business. The proposed investment comes as the company continues to build out its presence in the EV value chain.
Builds on strong first-quarter performance
The September-quarter performance follows a strong start to FY27. In the June quarter, Gujarat Fluorochemicals reported a 71% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹184 crore, compared with ₹108 crore in Q1 FY26.
Revenue from operations grew 9% to ₹1,281 crore from ₹1,176 crore in the year-ago quarter. EBITDA rose 31% to ₹344 crore, against ₹262 crore a year earlier.
EBITDA margin also expanded to 27% from 22.3% in Q1 FY26, supported by improved operational efficiency and a favourable product mix.
The company has thus sustained its earnings growth momentum through the first half of FY27, with revenue growth accelerating sharply in the September quarter. However, the moderation in EBITDA margin will remain an important metric to watch in the coming quarters.
