Xbox’s dashboard ads have long been a bit of a sore point amongst the fanbase. We see complaints about them crop up in waves — especially if a particularly annoying advert keeps appearing for various folks — and today, one particular fan has begun pleading to new boss Asha Sharma to be rid of these irrelevant Xbox adverts.
This time, the source of frustration is a new McDonald’s ad that’s begun appearing on the Xbox home screen – for a Spicy McCrispy, if you must know. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a dashboard advert for the popular fast food chain, but it’s certainly riled this Xbox fan up:
Some of the responses here do have a few suggestions for their fellow, frustrated Xbox fan. One Reddit user suggests switching off personalised ads for a more Xbox product-focused ad experience; a suggestion someone else has agreed with, too.
Either way, the original poster has made their point clear to Asha Sharma that they don’t want to see things like this anymore – and it of course remains to be seen if the new Xbox boss sees — and would potentially respond to — something like this. She’s certainly been active online during the beginning of her new role, so you never know!
In the meantime though, it’s probably worth giving the above suggestion a whirl if this sort of thing is annoying you at the moment. It can’t hurt trying it to see if you spot more gaming-centric ads on the Xbox dashboard as a result.
