Nate (Jacob Elordi)

Eddy Chen/HBO.
Partick Wymore.
How It Started: A star quarterback with a bad temper who was a little too invested in his dad’s sex life. As for his own…
How It’s Going: After the time jump, he’s engaged to his former sidepiece, Cassie, and working in construction. Peaked in high school much?
What We Want: Nate takes an anger-management class and chills the hell out. He applies his love for snooping to becoming a private investigator for the NYPD’s Special Victims Unit.
Meanwhile, IRL: Elordi is the first of the Euphoria “teens” to score an Oscar nomination—so that’s Academy Award nominee Jacob Elordi to you.
Cassie (Sydney Sweeney)
Eddy Chen/HBO.
Courtesy of HBO.
How It Started: A cheerleader who learned the hard way that sleeping with your best friend’s ex boyfriend isn’t a great idea.
How It’s Going: Cassie has taken her talents to an OnlyFans-style website, where she’s wiggling her tail in a Playboy Bunny outfit. It’s called content creation!
What We Want: Cassie expands into other business ventures. She starts selling lingerie and even her own bathwater. She eventually lands a lucrative but controversial deal promoting jeans.
Meanwhile, IRL: Well, what do you know…
Rue (Zendaya)
Eddy Chen/HBO.
Partick Wymore.
How It Started: Euphoria’s troubled protagonist had major substance abuse and mommy issues, but at least she also had Jules…for a while.
How It’s Going: Five years after we first met her, Rue’s dealing drugs and a deadpan drug dealer is chasing her down. The more things change…
What We Want: Rue enters the witness protection program and gets sent to New York, where she’s scouted on the street by a top modeling agency—then flown to Paris Fashion Week, where she belongs.
Meanwhile, IRL: Zendaya’s a full-fledged movie star, fashion icon, and soon to be wed to her longtime love, Tom Holland, a.k.a. Spider-Man. Rue should take some notes.
Jules (Hunter Schafer)
Eddy Chen/HBO.
Eddy Chen/HBO.
How It Started: The new girl in town, Jules quickly became Rue’s bestie and Nate’s obsession. Through it all, she had excellent eye makeup.
How It’s Going: Jules seems to be living the high life, lounging in a penthouse in front of an easel as someone’s muse or, perhaps, sugar baby. Either way, it’s what she deserves.
What We Want: No notes.
Meanwhile, IRL: Schafer is fighting for trans rights and has joined the star-studded casts of Mother Mary and Tom Ford’s upcoming film, Cry to Heaven. Again: right where she should be.
LEXI (Maude Apatow)
Eddy Chen/HBO.
Eddy Chen/HBO.
How It Started: She was Rue’s childhood friend and Cassie’s wallflower little sister. Often overlooked, but don’t worry: She was watching everything and writing a play about it.
How It’s Going: Lexi is single and on the prowl at her sister’s wedding, which is very relatable.
What We Want: Lexi starts as a PA on a film set, getting coffees and parking cars. Her knack for dialogue is noted by the president of the studio, who promotes her on the spot. Soon enough, she’s running the whole place.
Meanwhile, IRL: Apatow took a page out of Lexi’s book and turned to the stage—starring in musicals on the West End and Off Broadway. She also directed her first film. Watch your back, Sam Levinson!
Maddy (Alexa Demie)
Eddy Chen/HBO.
Marcel Rev.
How It Started: HBIC who lost her best friend and her boyfriend when they started hooking up with each other.
How It’s Going: Maddy has an ambiguous side hustle at a strip club, but let’s be clear: She’s not a hooker.
What We Want: While at the club, a handsome young Russian billionaire sweeps Maddy off her feet. They have a whirlwind romance that ends in disaster when his parents get involved.
Meanwhile, IRL: It’s impossible to know: Demie is the one Euphoria cast member who has laid relatively low for the last five years. She’s moving in silence.
