On the night the San Francisco 49ers’ season came to an end with a loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round of the NFL’s postseason, the Golden State Warriors picked up Bay Area sports fans with another impressive victory at home on Saturday evening.
For the third straight game, the Warriors rolled to another double-digit victory behind sharp shooting from beyond the arc. On Saturday at Chase Center, the Warriors buried 23 3-pointers to surge past the Hornets for a 136-116 win. Seven different members of the Warriors drilled two or more 3-pointers.
De’Anthony Melton led the Warriors again, scoring a team-high 24 points off the bench on 8-of-16 shooting from the field and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc with six rebounds and three assists in 21 minutes. Melton has now scored 22 or more points in three of his last six games. The Warriors are 5-1 over that span. In games Melton has been in the lineup this season, the Warriors have posted an 11-6 record.
Moses Moody knocked down four 3-pointers on his way to 12 points in 27 minutes. Draymond Green added 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting with four made 3-pointers. Brandin Podziemski stayed hot, scoring 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting with a trio of made 3-pointers in 30 minutes off the bench.
Steph Curry, Buddy Hield and Al Horford each knocked down a pair of triples on Saturday against the Hornets.
The Warriors made franchise history on Saturday night at Chase Center. For the first time in franchise history, the Warriors have made at least 20 3-pointers in three straight games.
Along with winning three straight games, the Warriors have won five of six games on their current eight-game home stand. The Warriors have posted an 11-4 record over their last 15 games.
With a 24-19 record, the Warriors will put their three-game win streak on the line on Monday when the Miami Heat come to Chase Center.
