US-Iran War Live Updates: Iran’s top security official Mohsen Rezaei warned that Tehran will consider any country joining the US economic war against Iran an “enemy” and target its interests. He urged neighbouring countries to stay out of the conflict, warning that Iran could strike their interests if they refuse.
Rezaei also said the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed unless the US fulfils its commitments under a June peace memorandum, while talks with Oman on an alternative shipping route through the strait were progressing.
The warning comes as US President Donald Trump has vowed to launch the “most crushing economic operation ever” against Iran. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is expected to announce new measures on Monday.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf meanwhile called for a “homegrown, independent order” for regional peace and security, saying US actions had put the security of its allies at risk.
