Tinubu Swears In New Ministers of Power, Foreign Affairs
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as Nigeria’s new Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
The ceremony took place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in the presence of their spouses and senior government officials.
The appointments followed the resignation of former ministers Yusuf Tuggar (Foreign Affairs) and Adebayo Adelabu (Power), who stepped down to contest APC governorship primaries in their states.
Tegbe, born in Ibadan, Oyo State, is a seasoned fiscal and institutional reform strategist with over 35 years of experience across public and private sectors.
Ambassador Enikanolaiye, from Igbagun, Kogi State, graduated with a First Class in Political Science from ABU Zaria and earned a Master’s in International Law and Diplomacy from UNILAG.
A career diplomat, he has served in Nigeria’s missions in Ethiopia, Serbia, Canada, and the UK, and was most recently Head of Mission in India.
Before his appointment, Enikanolaiye was Senior Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Foreign Affairs and International Relations in the Office of the Chief of Staff.
The swearing-in marks a reshuffle aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s energy and foreign policy leadership, with both men expected to bring extensive expertise to their new roles.
