I’VE BEEN INVESTING in my skincare a lot more as I approach 30, so I know a thing or two about what makes a good moisturizer. Trust me, I’ve gone through my fair share of light, thick, gentle, and ceramide-based creams to back up my claims. There are plenty I know I’ll never buy again. However, two of my absolute favorites on the market that I continuously repurchase just happen to be on major sale for Amazon Prime Day: the Purito Oat Calming Gel Cream and the Skinfix Ceramide Prime Whipped Cream.

As a Men’s Health shopping editor and a guy who takes his skincare seriously, I can confidently say that these two moisturizers completely saved my skin barrier when it was damaged.

Like a lot of guys, I used to have a rather simple routine. Though, I’ve been leaning into the youth-preservation thing the past few years (a common trope for almost-30-year-olds like me). This has been for better and for worse. The “worse” came when I started experimenting with harsh exfoliating actives and retinoids. Don’t get me wrong, they’re game-changers when used right. But because I was an overachiever who thought every product on my social media feed was a miracle worker, I overdid it.

The result was a damaged skin barrier. The area next to my nose and under my eyes started stinging whenever I put on anything, and yes, that included products designed to be gentle and hydrating. I couldn’t even stand in the sun for more than two minutes without feeling a burning sensation. Gah!

I was forced to strip back the extensive, multi-step routine and focus entirely on healing. I scaled down to the bare minimum: a simple water rinse and SPF in the morning, and a gentle cleanser at night. But the true products that fast-tracked my recovery in a matter of weeks were my Purito gel and Skinfix cream. Once I started layering them together, my skin was resurrected.

Because the universe loves a comeback story, both of them are on sale for Prime Day right now. If your face is currently throwing a temper tantrum, here is what you need to know before adding them to your cart.

The Purito Gel Cream (which is currently almost half off at 46% down) was initially the only product able to actually calm my skin during this time. It was basically a cool glass of water for my angry, inflamed face. It’s incredibly lightweight, absorbs instantly, and the oat extract immediately takes the sting out of raw skin.

But since my skin barrier was compromised, I knew hydrating was just one step. I also had to seal it in, which is where the Skinfix Ceramide Prime Whipped Cream came in. I would layer this slightly thicker, but still relatively light, cream right over the Purito gel. It’s packed with healthy fats called ceramides that essentially act like a bandage, gluing your broken skin cells and micro-tears back together. (Yes, it’s worth mentioning that this is 25% off today, but I’m also standing firm that it healed my skin.)

Stacking these two together did exactly what I needed it to do. By putting the Skinfix right over the Purito, my skin was completely back to normal in about two weeks, give-or-take. If you went too hard on the acids or your skin just feels tight and raw, grab this duo while they’re cheap and hit the reset button.
