A New Braunfels resident and H-E-B customer is the confirmed winner of a $20 million lottery ticket in Texas. The resident bought the ticket for the Million Supreme scratch-off game while doing his groceries, and later realized they had won.
The Fourth Prize of Million Supreme Drops
The winner’s identity was not revealed by the Texas Lottery, but the lottery released the customary details to help flesh out the full story. Among those was the fact that the winner bought their ticket at the H-E-B at 2965 I-35 North in New Braunfels, and claimed the prize only last week.
The lottery has publicized the win just recently, respecting the winner’s privacy. But the winner was happy to share their own account of how it felt to have actually won with the lottery:
“My first reaction was, ‘Wow!’ After I scratched the ticket, I kept looking at it to make sure the numbers matched. I must have checked it a dozen times.”
“I’ve been playing Texas Lottery scratch ticket games for about 15 years,” the winner said, adding that they loved the thrill of the instant win.
More Than $829M in Lower-Tier Opportunities Remain to Be Claimed
The lottery, though, wants to assure that there are plenty of other, lower-tier, opportunities left in the game, with 10,379,010 tickets still available for the $20 Million Supreme game, and more than $829 million worth of prizes available.
The game was originally launched in 2022, and the $100-a-ticket scratch-off awards four top prizes worth $20 million, making it one of the most generous lottery games, but also one of the most expensive as well.
The most recent win has been the fourth claimed, with one claimed in 2022 and two others claimed within days of each other in 2023.
