The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has strongly denied allegations suggesting that the party or Union Minister Rammohan Naidu had any role in shielding individuals connected to Ajit Pawar’s plane crash, terming the claims “completely unfounded and baseless.”
TDP sources said the accusations appear to be politically motivated and aimed at deriving narrow political mileage from a tragic incident.
According to party sources, aircraft accident investigations are conducted strictly in line with established international protocols laid down by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). These investigations, they emphasised, are technical in nature, transparent, and entirely evidence-driven.
“Rather than making wild allegations, we should allow the investigating bodies to do their job and arrive at conclusions based on evidence,” sources said.
Calling the politicisation of the tragedy “deeply unfortunate,” TDP leaders said the loss of a respected political figure should not be used as a tool for political gain.
The party also stated that it has always held Ajit Pawar in high regard and remains committed to ensuring that the truth emerges through due process. It added that if anyone is found responsible following a proper investigation, they must be held accountable in accordance with the law.
As the probe continues, TDP maintains that it stands by institutional processes and expects the findings to be based purely on facts and established aviation investigation norms.
