It’s going to be playable at Gamescom 2025!

Well, there we have it. After what feels like an age of delays and subsequent teases, Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally re-emerging next month. Yep, Team Cherry is bringing its much-anticipated Hollow Knight follow-up to Xbox’s Gamescom booth in August – including a showcase during one of Microsoft’s planned livestream broadcasts.

The question is, after such a long time waiting, are you still hyped for Silksong? Looking at the internet’s response to today’s Gamescom news, there’s still plenty of excitement around this one – but how are you feeling about it here in 2025? Remember, it’ll be completely playable on Xbox Game Pass day one when it lands – no additional purchase required.

For us here at PX HQ, it’s that Xbox Game Pass inclusion that’s keeping us hooked. Sure, HK was a triumph and we’ve always looked forward to the sequel, but there’s just so much going on these days it’s hard to keep track of things. With Game Pass, we can keep up with what’s being added to the service every month and see what we end up liking – and we hope that we’ll more than like Hollow: Knight Silksong when it arrives on the service.

As for when that arrival will come, well, we don’t know just yet – but hopefully Gamescom gives us an answer. Earlier in the year, we heard that Silksong could be mere months away, and while that rumoured June release never came to be, that’s not to say the title isn’t imminent. In fact, the game being playable on ROG Xbox Ally next month probably means it’s pretty close to launching!

So, are you hyped for Silksong? When do you think it’ll launch? Give us your best guess down below and talk to us about your excitement levels in the comments.
