Four “mainstay IPs” incoming
You might recall that, a couple of years ago, SEGA announced many new games at once in an effort to revive many of its beloved franchises.
So far, only one of those games has made it to market — Shinobi: Art of Vengeance — while the rest remain under wraps for now.
However, in SEGA’s latest earnings report, covering the third quarter of its financial year 2026, it sounds as though there might finally be some movement.
The company says it’s planning to “release four major new titles for mainstay IPs” within its next fiscal year, which will be between April 2026 and March 2027.

Later in the report is a release schedule for announced games, and while there are no dates attached, it lists Virtua Fighter, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, and Streets of Rage — all games we know are in the works.
It’s possible, then, that some of these will be coming sometime within that aforementioned period; the idea that we could all be playing a new Crazy Taxi within a year or so, maybe less, is very exciting.
“Mainstay IPs” may well also mean the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog, Like a Dragon, and other active series. The four games SEGA is talking about is probably a mix of everything, but it’s exciting nonetheless — we’re looking forward to seeing what it has in store.
