The time for predictions and speculation is over: The Oscars 2026 are finally underway, with host Conan O’Brien kicking off the 98th Academy Awards from the stage of the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
The ceremony always makes history, and this year’s is no exception: Ryan Coogler’s epic vampire film, Sinners, hit a new high-water mark for nominations, earning 16 nods across the Academy’s 24 categories. The precious previous record holders, All About Eve, Titanic, and La La Land, scored 14 nominations in their respective years.
All eyes are on the race between Sinners and Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, whose 13 nominations make it the year’s second-most-recognized film. Joachim Trier’s Norwegian family drama, Sentimental Value, and Josh Safdie’s table tennis period piece, Marty Supreme, each got nine nods, putting them in a tie for third.
How the show will play out is anyone’s guess, so good luck filling out that ballot. While some categories seemed to be locked just a few weeks ago, shifts in public sentiment caused by negative publicity or moments of awards-show transcendence can have a powerful influence on voters, who had until 5 p.m. PT on March 5 to make their final decisions. That said, One Battle After Another has been coming out on top at awards shows since last December. If another name is said toward the end of the night, when the best-director and best-picture awards are handed out, expect the word upset to be thrown around with abandon.
Read on for the full list of every Oscar winner at the Oscars 2026, which are airing on ABC and streaming live on ABC’s associated apps and Hulu, starting at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on March 15.
