Sandra Bullock says cuffed jeans can still look classy, and who are we to disagree?
It’s a more controversial stance than you may think. After all, in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, one of the rules is “You must never double-cuff the Pants. It’s tacky. There will never be a time when this will not be tacky.” But a single cuff? Borderline.
Until now. Now Bullock did it, so we’re doing it. After all, sisters are just sisters, but Sandra is Mother, and we did try cuffing our baggy jeans over the summer to great success….
The low-key Oscar winner recently stepped out in foggy Los Angeles wearing the A-lister’s answer to the Steve Jobs uniform: a knit black turtleneck sweater, straight jeans cuffed with military precision, and chunky black Chelsea boots. Rocking what looks like a French manicure and her signature dark hair, she accessorized with round sunglasses, a black tote, and earrings.

Jennifer Lopez, too, cosigned the move back in October, pairing cuffed jeans with brown suede boots for a ’70s look that’s a little more laid-back than her usual style.
Bullock recently reprised her role as Sally Owens for the just-wrapped Practical Magic 2 with Nicole Kidman. The original ’90s cult classic is arguably her most fashionable role, with apologies to Miss Congeniality. Sure, we love the eveningwear program, but the Owens sisters have been all over our Pinterest boards for ever. Bullock herself doesn’t use social media, but Kidman shared a post to commemorate when the sequel wrapped principal photography, a sweet video clip of the two actors walking together in a field.
Sandra Bullock is out in public, Nicole Kidman’s hair is back to curly, and we’re getting a witch movie soon. With all that’s wrong with the world right now, we’ll take these bright spots.
