Feb. 22 (UPI) — One Battle After Another won the top prize of Best Film at the BAFTA Awards ceremony in London Sunday.
Paul Thomas Anderson won Best Director for helming it and cast member Sean Penn won for Best Supporting Actor, while the movie also scored the honors for Best Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography and Editing.
Hamnet was named Best British Film and its star Jessie Buckley won the Best Actress accolade.
I Swear stand-out Robert Aramayo picked up the BAFTAs for Best Actor and Rising Star.
Sinners took home the prizes for Best Supporting Actress for Wunmi Mosaku, as well as Best Original Screenplay and Score.
Frankenstein won the statuettes for Best Production Design, Hair & Makeup, and Costume Design.
Mr. Nobody Against Putin won for Best Documentary and Sentimental Value was voted Best Film Not in the English Language.
Alan Cumming hosted the gala, which honored excellence in cinema.
One Battle After Another led the field with 14 BAFTA nominations, while Sinners followed with 13 nods; Hamnet and Marty Supreme were nominated for 11 prizes apiece; and Frankenstein and Sentimental Value were each nominated for eight awards.
