The three-day Initial Public Offer (IPO), the biggest of 2026 so far and the second-largest in Indian’s capital markets history, received healthy subscription from both institutional and non-institutional investors. Even the retail portion was fully subscribed on the final day of bidding. At ₹4.42 lakh crore market capitalisation, NSE becomes the 11th biggest company in India, ahead of Titan, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and even Infosys. What can be called a confidence boost for investors, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), one of NSE’s largest shareholders, bought further stake in the IPO, instead of being a selling shareholder. LIC bought stake worth another ₹450 crore, taking its overall stake to 10.81%. From 3.1 crore unique investors, NSE now boasts of a unique client list of 12.91 crore.
