No voter deletions without proper hearing, assures Chief Electoral Officer Delhi

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Delhi, has issued a public clarification reassuring citizens that receiving a notice during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) does not mean their names will be removed from the electoral rolls.

Addressing concerns following the publication of the draft electoral roll on August 31, 2026, the election authority affirmed that no elector’s name will be deleted without a full opportunity of being heard and the issuance of a speaking, appealable order.

Notices were generated primarily for electors whose names showed logical discrepancies or could not be mapped to past revision records. The CEO has published the full list of noticed electors along with specific reasons on its official portal (ceodelhinet.nic.in) and at designated polling locations. Concerned citizens have until October 29, 2026, to submit their replies and supporting documentation to their local Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO). To ease the process, additional AEROs have been deployed across all assembly constituencies.

For eligible residents whose names are completely missing from the draft roll, the deadline to file Form 6 is September 30, 2026. Applications can be submitted directly through the voters.eci.gov.in portal or via the ECINET mobile app.

To ensure widespread participation, the CEO announced another round of Special Enrolment Camps at all polling station locations on September 27, 2026 (Sunday), running from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Targeted registration drives are also scheduled on September 23 and 24 across DUSIB night shelters to register homeless citizens, transgender persons, and sex workers.

The final electoral roll will be published on November 4, 2026.
