Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Break Up After 20 Years
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s love story was full of big little moments
Though E! News confirmed the pair have called it quits after nearly 20 years of marriage, the Oscar winner and country singer shared many special memories throughout their two decades together.
Indeed, Nicole—who shares daughters Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14, with Keith—celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary in June with a touching black-and-white picture of her hugging the “You’ll Think of Me” singer and resting her head on his shoulder. She captioned the Instagram memory with a red heart emoji, writing, “Happy Anniversary Baby.”
The month before, Nicole—who is also mom to kids Bella, 32, and Connor, 30, with ex-husband Tom Cruise—celebrated Keith’s ACM Awards win with a video of the pair smiling together in the back of a car, writing on Instagram, “So much fun with my Triple Crown winner!”
For his part, Keith has regularly shared snaps with the Big Little Lies actress on Instagram over the years, including from when they rolled in 2025 together during a New Year’s Eve telecast in Nashville.
But their relationship started back in 2005 after the pair met at an event in Los Angeles, though it took a few months for Keith to give Nicole a call.
“I remember thinking, I had such a crush on him, and he wasn’t interested in me,” Nicole said during a 2017 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “It’s true! He didn’t call me for four months.”
Keith agreed with the Babygirl actress’ story, noting his hesitation to call her was rooted in insecurity.

“I thought she was way out of my league,” he explained during a 2018 episode of the Australian show Interview. “I might have a wild imagination of possibilities in life, obviously, but not in a million years did I think that somebody like that would be interested in me. At all.”
However, Nicole knew Keith was the one after just a few months of dating, when the musician stood on her stoop at 5 a.m. with flowers on her 38th birthday. As she told People in 2019, “That is when I went, ‘This is the man I hope I get to marry.'”
And she did, tying the knot in June 2006.
