Meghan Markle‘s move to the UK might not be the only return she’s planning to make. The Duchess of Sussex could be eyeing a new acting role, too.

She has been “offered a role in an upcoming project based in the UK,” according to news.com.au. We’ve reached to the Sussexes and their Archewell Productions imprint for confirmation.

There’s no more detail on what the project is, but the offer has been described as a “key reason” for Markle and Prince Harry moving back to the UK with their children.

This comes after the surprise announcement that the Sussexes were planning to leave their California home and relocate for an “extended period” of time back to Britain, where the last lived permanently in 2020. They ended their official royal duties when they moved to the States, where they have focused on media projects – including striking a lucrative production deal with Netflix.

Prior to her marrying into the British royal family, Markle was in USA Network legal drama Suits, in which she starred as paralegal Rachel for the first seven seasons, with her character eventually marrying the show’s co-lead, Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams).

Markle has since focused on her own TV shows, including Netflix doc series Harry & Meghan and With Love, Meghan, and podcast series Archetypes. She has also guested on MasterChef Australia. Last year, it was announced she was taking a small cameo role in Amazon MGM Studios movie Close Personal Friends, ending an eight-year hiatus away from acting. The film stars Brie Larson, Lily Collins, Jack Quaid and Henry Golding.

Harry and Meghan are returning to the UK very soon, with their children enrolled in British schools, which begin their new years in September. They will remain private individuals and non-working members of the royal family, reports say. The Sussexes are also planning to retain their home in Montecito, and Archewell Productions will stay U.S.-based.
