After butter tones dominated fashion and beauty trends last year, we’re ready for something a little bolder: lemon yellow nails, the must-have shade for 2026. The color is the perfect way to welcome spring, and it will carry your mani right through to summer.

Channeling the cheerful color of daffodils—or a zesty lemon—this nail shade is the perfect way to brighten up your entire look. As always, Rhode’s Hailey Bieber was an early adopter, donning bright lemon drop nails last summer (courtesy of nail artist Zola Ganzorigt). After last year’s obsession with paler butter shades, it’s no surprise that yellow manicures are still trending. Expect to see lots more yellow manis as the warmer months roll in—and to make sure you’re prepared, find everything to know about the nail trend below.

How to get lemon yellow nails

Achieving lemon yellow nails (as opposed to last year’s creamier yellow shade) is all about selecting the correct color nail polish.

To create Hailey’s lemon drop nails, Ganzorigt shared that she used a mix of OPI’s Stay Out All Bright and Daffodil Duck Walk to achieve that vibrant, eye-catching yellow base. A single shade Essie’s Lemon Cielo would guarantee the color you’re looking for, too.

Remember to prioritize a bright finish over more muted pastel shades or cooler tones. That said, there are plenty of different ways to customize lemon yellow nails to your style—even if you’re worried that the shade might be a bit too flashy for you. Add a subtle lemon French tip, or opt for a bolder chrome finish or rhinestone decal.
