Jaime King is setting the record straight.
The actress is addressing speculation surrounding her relationship with Taylor Swift after her son — the pop star’s godson, 10-year-old Leo Newman — was not among the children at Swift’s star-studded wedding to Travis Kelce last week.
“The reason Jaime chose Taylor as Leo Thames’s godmother is because they both believe that being a godmother is a deeply personal and spiritual commitment that has nothing to do with public appearances,” King’s publicist, Jane Owen, exclusively told Page Six.
“Leo Thames is still too young for a large adult wedding celebration, but he and his mother were able to joyfully celebrate Taylor and Kelce’s marriage in his own very special, age-appropriate way during his summer break,” the publicist said.
The Grammy winner’s rep didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The statement comes one day after Page Six exclusively reported that none of Swift’s five godchildren — including Leo — attended the singer’s wedding festivities with Kelce.
Sources also said the daughters of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s brother, Jason, were the only children who served as flower girls during the ceremony.

In April 2025, a source exclusively told Page Six that the “Sin City” star and the “Fortnight” singer “hadn’t been in touch for a long time” but said that King “misses Taylor” and hopes they can “reconnect at some point.”
“Jaime made Taylor her son’s godmother for a reason and she wants to continue that friendship,” the source said at the time.
King and Swift became inseparable after meeting at a 2014 Golden Globes party. Just one year later, the “White Chicks” actress asked the pop star to be her son Leo’s godmother.
King’s now-ex-husband, Kyle Newman, also directed Swift’s 2015 “Style” music video.
Meanwhile, Swift and Kelce, both 36, kicked off their wedding weekend with a rehearsal dinner that was just as star-studded as the reception itself.
On Friday, over 1,000 guests attended the pop icon and the NFL star’s ceremony at NYC’s iconic Madison Square Garden.
At around 7:30 p.m., the Garden’s exterior lit up with pink digital screens reading, “JUST&T MARRIED!”
Swift’s longtime publicist, Tree Paine, who was at the wedding, confirmed to Page Six the “Love Story” singer walked down the aisle in a Christian Dior haute couture gown, and Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.
Austin Swift served as his sister’s “man of honor,” while Jason served as his best man, Paine also confirmed.
Swift and the Super Bowl champ revealed their engagement in August 2025 with a playful Instagram post that read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” ending the caption with a dynamite emoji, seemingly referencing their “TNT” nickname.
