Originally released in October 2025 in the US, Canada, and Mexico, the UK was left out of the initial release for the immensely popular (and continually sold-out), “Icon Blue” DualSense Controller.
But now, 10-months later, the special edition gamepad is finally up for preorder for those on the other side of the Atlantic (i.e., me). This is a UK-retailer exclusive at Smyths Toys, but you can also preorder from PlayStation Direct in the UK if you’d prefer instead.

The new controller design will cost £74.99, and arrives on September 25, 2026.
According to PlayStation’s official blog, the Icon Blue controller is “inspired by PlayStation’s storied heritage [with its] unique, layered shades of blue and a glossy pattern of PlayStation shapes on the touch pad.” It’s unabashedly all-blue from front to back and top to bottom. And, honestly, I quite like it!
The DualSense is often regarded as the best PS5 controller under $100, but it also makes for an excellent PC controller, especially since PC game clients like Steam support the DualSense’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition
This comes at the same time as the new “XBOX 25” anniversary controller is also now up for preorder globally, and available at Amazon and Smyths in the UK, also for £74.99.
Listen, I own way too many controllers for both my Xbox and PlayStation already, so I’m not going to sit here and lecture you about why you need or don’t need anymore. It’s a bad habit I’m trying to work on, especially since I don’t treat these like collectibles either.
That being said, both are pretty nice, right? Yeah, I might order both. Christmas has come early… I can drive; give me back my keys!
