MIDWAY, Utah—Homestead Midway Utah, the nearly 190-acre mountain retreat in Utah’s Wasatch Valley, debuted The Barn at Homestead, a new 17,636-square-foot event venue. This is the latest major amenity to be completed as part of the resort’s years-long, multi-phase transformation. The Barn was designed to be a gathering place for weddings, retreats, milestone celebrations, and special occasions.
Set amid gardens, walking trails, and a pond, The Barn draws on the agrarian heritage of the original Schneitter family farmstead and reinterprets the classic mountain barn through a contemporary lens. The Barn includes the Uinta Ballroom, Nebo Room, and Air Room, along with a foyer and outdoor patios. The adjoining Carriage House adds four additional spaces. Together with two lawns, an outdoor kitchen and multiple patios, the complex lets each gathering move between indoors and out.
The Barn adapts to the scale of every occasion. It joins Homestead’s collection of venues at the Alpine House, including the Timpanogos Room, Garden Ballroom and Patio, Clayton Room and Wasatch, along with the new Garden Foyer and the newly constructed Mountain View Deck, set on the second floor off the Wasatch Foyer with panoramic views across the valley.
“The Barn gives planners something truly rare: a venue with the scale and flexibility of a major event space, set within one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Mountain West,” said Robin Killett, director of sales & marketing. “From the terraces and lawns to the private green rooms in the Carriage House, every detail was designed to make hosting effortless, and the response from couples and groups touring the space has been extraordinary.”
Future Enhancements
Homestead has evolved from a Swiss farmstead into a mountain destination resort. Its ongoing renovation includes The Barn and Carriage House, which opened in August alongside the first Homestead, Autograph Collection Residences. In spring 2027, the Alpine House will reopen with a refined arrival experience, elevated check-in, and an inspired new dining concept, alongside the reimagined Simon’s Tavern.
By summer 2027, Homestead will debut its par-71 18-hole championship course, completely reimagined by architect John Fought, along with a refreshed clubhouse and new Activity Center. Completing the transformation in fall 2027, The Spa at Homestead will reimagine the traditional spa as a bathhouse and wellness retreat, with hot springs, steam rooms, and dry saunas.
“The Barn gives people a place to celebrate life’s most important moments, surrounded by the gardens, trails and mountain views that have drawn people to Homestead for generations,” said Niels Vuijsters, managing director. “Its flexible design allows each gathering to be as intimate or as grand as the occasion demands. We’re so excited to be part of the memories taking shape here.”
