A life worth living

Level-5’s renaissance needs to be studied.
The legendary Japanese studio released two hits this year: Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time and Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road.
And the former – fresh from receiving a free update over the Christmas holiday – has now sold over 1.5 million units worldwide.
It’s achieved the milestone within about seven months, as the game launched on 21st May and almost immediately raced to 500k units. It had sold 1.4 million units as of 25th September, so it’s tacked on another 100k units over the past three months alone.
For those who missed it, the game received a free update on 24th December, featuring a free roguelike-inspired mode.
Here’s how Level-5 describes it:
“The free major update ‘The Sinister Broker Bazario’s Schemes’ is now available. It introduces Snoozaland, a dream realm where open-world exploration meets roguelike thrills. With high replay value, each run offers varied rewards in a deep yet accessible experience that anyone can enjoy. Rewards earned in Snoozaland can be brought back to the main game, making your slow-life adventure even more fulfilling. Whether you’re a longtime player or just starting out, dive into this dream world to begin a whole new journey!”
