Carly Rae Jepsen wants her love to last forever on “On Wires,” the first taste of her recently announced album Day and Night.
“On Wires” is one of Jepsen’s most ambitious tracks to date. Opening with staccato piano, the chorus explodes into an arena rock declaration of her love. It was produced by Kyle Shearer, and co-written by Jepsen, Shearer, and Nate Cyphert. In the song’s accompanying music video, Jepsen sings her way through a concert hall and down the street. The Caio Viera-directed video was filmed when Jepsen was six months pregnant; she gave birth to her first child in March 2026.
Day and Night arrives on Sept. 18 via Interscope Records. It’s her eighth studio album following the 2023 B sides collection The Loveliest Time. On Sept. 27, Jepsen will play a special sunset set at New York City’s All Things Go Festival, marking her first live performance of 2026.
