Cardi B has been in court all week due to her assault trial stemming from a 2018 incident. However, she recently received a major assist from a key witness’ testimony.

Tierra Malcolm, a receptionist who worked at the Beverly Hills OB-GYN office where the alleged assault took place, took the witness stand on Wednesday (Aug. 27). She recounted walking into the hallway when she “heard voices,” and saw the Bronx rapper and alleged victim, security guard Emani Ellis, having a tense conversation.

Malcolm claimed that she did not see any physical contact occur between the two and revealed that she stepped between them to try and de-escalate the situation. Furthermore, Malcolm stated that she saw a scratch on her face, but believed that it came from Ellis since she was facing the security guard during the confrontation and her back was to the 32-year-old rapper. Dr. David Finke, the OB-GYN who treated Cardi, claimed that he saw Ellis cause a shoulder injury to Malcolm but did not see Cardi attack her.

Receptionist Details Breaking Up Cardi B, Ex-Security Guard

These were important accounts of what took place since Ellis’ entire case is built upon Cardi allegedly spitting on her, taking a swing at her, and scratching her. The “Outside” artist denied any physical contact with the security guard earlier this week. “I didn’t hit her. She didn’t hit me. There was no touch. So to me, there was no incident,” she stated. The Grammy winner admitted that they exchanged words and were “chest-to-chest,” but it did not get physical.

The mother of three was visiting the OB-GYN while four months pregnant, which the world did not know yet, due to concerns about her health. She stated in court that she weighed 130 pounds, and Ellis was larger than she was. She also revealed that Ellis was allegedly excited to see her in the office and began to record a video of her on her phone, which triggered her frustration.
