President Vladimir Putin is in India for the BRICS Summit (September 11-13) at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This possibly is the 25th meeting between the two leaders since they both met first time in 2001, when CM Modi had accompanied late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. In less than two weeks after Bishkek at the SCO Summit again they met in New Delhi.
