Jan. 8 (UPI) — Awards season 2026 is underway and will stretch through March, with major ceremonies honoring film, television and music. Several key dates and hosts have already been announced, while others will be confirmed in the weeks ahead.

Here are the details on upcoming award shows:

GLAAD Media Awards — March 5

The 37th Annual GLAAD Media Awards honors fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues. The ceremony will take place from Los Angeles on March 5 and stream on Hulu March 21. Jonathan Bennett will host and Demi Lovato will perform at the show. The GLAAD Media Awards not only honors film and TV — it also honors music, gaming, news programs, podcasts and Spanish-language shows.

Academy Awards — March 15

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presents the Academy Awards to honor excellence in film. Ryan Coogler‘s film Sinners leads with a record-setting 16 nominations, including nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan for playing twin brothers and Best Supporting Actress for Wunmi Mosaku. One Battle After Another followed with 13 nominations. The ceremony will take place March 15. Conan O’Brien will host the ceremony for the second year in a row.

Tony Awards — June 7

The Tony Awards, which honor excellence in Broadway theater, will take place June 7 at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The ceremony will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+, with nominations set to be announced May 5. A host has not yet been announced.

Emmy Awards — Sept. 14

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presents the Emmy Awards to recognize excellence in television. The ceremony will air Sept. 14, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

The Critics Choice Association presented the Critics Choice Awards to honor excellence in film and television at a ceremony on Jan. 4. Chelsea Handler hosted the show. The top winners were:

Best Picture: One Battle After Another

Best Director: Paul Thomas Anderson (One Battle After Another)

Best Television Series – Drama: The Pitt

Best Television Series – Comedy: The Studio

Golden Globes — Jan. 11

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association presented the Golden Globe Awards to honor excellence in film and television on Jan. 11. Nikki Glaser hosted the ceremony. The top winners were:

Best Motion Picture – One Battle After Another

Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy: One Battle After Another

Best Television Series – Drama: The Pitt

Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy: The Studio

Grammy Awards — Feb. 1

The Recording Academy presented the Grammy Awards on Feb. 1. Performers included all eight Best New Artist nominees: Addison Rae, Alex Warren, Olivia Dean, Katseye, the Marías, Sombr, Leon Thomas and Lola Young. Trevor Noah hosted the show for the sixth time. President Trump threatened to sue Noah for one of his jokes. The top winners were:

Album of the Year – Debi Tirar Mas Fotos by Bad Bunny

Record of the Year – “Luther” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA

Best New Artist – Olivia Dean

Best Song – “Wildflower” by Billie Eilish

Best Pop Vocal Album – Mayhem by Lady Gaga

Film Independent Spirit Awards — Feb. 15

Film Independent presented the Spirit Awards to celebrate independent filmmaking. Ego Nwodim (SNL) hosted the ceremony Feb. 15. The top winners were:

Best Feature: Train Dreams

Best Director: Clint Bentley (Train Dreams)

Best New Scripted Series: Adolescence

Premio Lo Nuestro Awards — Feb. 19

Thalia, Nadia Ferreira and Clarissa Molina hosted the Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, which celebrates the best in Latin Music. Carín León, Cristian Castro and Gloria Trevi performed. The show aired on Univision, UNIMÁS and Galavisión on Feb. 19. The top winners were:

Artist of the Year: Bad Bunny

Urban Icon Award: Arcangel

Lifetime Achievement Award: Juanes

BAFTAs — Feb. 22

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts presented the BAFTA Awards honoring excellence in film. Alan Cumming hosted the event in London on Feb. 22. The top winners were:

Best Film: One Battle After Another

Best Director: Paul Thomas Anderson

Best British Film: Hamnet

Actor Awards — March 1

The Screen Actors Guild presented the Actor Awards (formerly the SAG Awards) on March 1 to honor outstanding performances in film and television. Kristen Bell hosted for the third year in a row.

Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture Award: Sinners

Lifetime Achievement Awards: Harrison Ford
