The Avalanche price remains above a crucial support and breakout area, thanks to the blockchain update from POSCO that creates a fundamental driver of momentum for the AVAX market.
At the time of writing, the Avalanche (AVAX) price is at $7.39, down 2.04% from the previous 24 hours. This drop comes after a huge rally seen late in the month of August.

Why Is Avalanche Price Experiencing Resistance at $7.80?
Based on the TradingView daily chart, AVAX is trading above the middle line of the Bollinger Band at $6.754, while the upper band is at $7.802. The price had surged significantly from approximately $6.37 and subsequently pulled back, with the price facing a clear resistance level at $7.80.
Breaking out above the $7.80 price level will be bullish for the price structure. Otherwise, a resumption of sell-off pressure will see the $7.254 and $6.754 levels becoming important for support.
What Does the Avalanche Price RSI Signal?
The 14-day relative strength index (RSI) is 62.20, which is higher than its moving average of 56.60. Such a difference suggests that buyers continue to have control even after this drawdown, even though the RSI has come off its recent gains from the overbought region.
The combination of the RSI being above 60 and price trading above the Bollinger middle band supports a bullish technical outlook. A break below $7.254 will weaken this outlook.

What Impact Has POSCO Had on the Avalanche Price?
It should be mentioned that Avalanche has reported that South Korea’s largest steel company, POSCO, has brought global trade on-chain through the development of blockchain solutions with the participation of Intain and Olea.
Avalanche described the development as “bringing global trade on-chain”, highlighting its use of blockchain technology for POSCO’s operations and digital trade solutions.

This information serves as an essential real-world adoption trigger for AVAX. At the same time, it has happened amid the impressive growth in open interest, which has exceeded $300 million according to the latest CoinGlass data.
Is Avalanche Price Expected to Hit $7.42 Next?
According to the data from the Coincodex, the above-stated short-term forecast predicts AVAX price reaching $7.42 on August 26 with a 0.44% gain, followed by targets of $7.41, $7.40, and $7.40 through August 30.
Therefore, the expected move shows little upside from the forecasted levels instead of pointing to an immediate breakout.
A break above $7.80 would show a better upside setup, whereas a rejection near $7.80 followed by a move below $7.254 will heighten the threat of a deeper pullback towards $6.754.

What Do Market Participants Need To Watch Out For Moving Forward?
The Avalanche price is currently trading between a recent breakout area and a key resistance area. Positive developments from POSCO improve the fundamental backdrop.
According to the RSI indicator and Bollinger Bands, there is momentum in place; however, it has become weaker recently.
Open interest provides yet another factor that needs to be considered due to its potential to increase the volatility of both upside and downside moves.
Taking into account the persistent volatility in crypto markets, traders need to pay attention to price behavior and future catalysts before investing.
