Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher is set to return to the stage with a new musical play titled Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane. The actor announced on Tuesday, March 17, that he will be sharing the stage with actress Swaroop Sampat for the upcoming production.
While sharing the poster on Instagram, Kher wrote, “Every new decade I start a NEW play. Some journeys for artistes begin in front of the camera! But the most MAGICAL ones begin on STAGE!”
Kher calls the play a very human story that shows the emotional ups and downs of life today. Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane
is a musical comedy about relationships, about people who seem familiar yet remain strangers, about the strange contradictions of our modern lives. It is funny, emotional, musical and deeply human,” he wrote.
“Theatre is where my life as an actor truly began. It is where I learnt to listen to silence, to feel the heartbeat of an audience, and to discover the incredible power of storytelling,” Kher stated.
“Returning to the theatre always feels like coming home. And I cannot wait to share this new journey with all of you,” he added.
