Man of Tomorrow is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious projects in the new DC Universe, featuring Superman (David Corenswet) and Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) forming an uneasy alliance to stop Brainiac (Lars Eidinger) from conquering Earth. Gunn’s sequel also features a stacked roster that includes Supergirl (Milly Alcock) and Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), with Xolo Maridueña’s Blue Beetle making the jump from the previous universe and Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart helping Superman with the power of the Green Lantern. Among the extensive cast of Man of Tomorrow is Adria Arjona, whose character is still being kept a secret by DC Studios. While some sources reported that Arjona is playing Maxima, there are still those who think she might be the DCU’s Wonder Woman, and a fresh look at her physical preparation has reignited the debate.

Trainer Paolo Mascitti, who has also overseen Corenswet’s physical transformation for his Superman role, shared a new Instagram story of Arjona, showing her noticeably more defined. While her muscled build could serve both Maxima, an alien warlord, and Diana Prince, the picture has given fans hope that Arjona will be the one to wear the Bracelets of Submission. She is indeed a great actress with an incredible range, and given that she’s already going through the intense training to sculpt her body, it would be best if she stuck around for more than one movie.
Should Wonder Woman Debut in Another Hero’s Movie?

DC Studios has confirmed that a solo Wonder Woman film is already in development, with Gunn describing the movie as a priority for the DCU. The timing makes Man of Tomorrow a great opportunity for Diana Prince’s live-action introduction, especially since Gunn’s sequel is reportedly structured around Earth’s heroes banding together against Brainiac’s invasion. Diana Prince’s absence from that roster would be a notable omission, as there’s no way Wonder Woman wouldn’t join the fight if people were in danger. That said, if Arjona is indeed playing Wonder Woman, DC Studios cannot reduce her to a background character inside a Superman movie, a mistake Warner Bros. Pictures made in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Wonder Woman is a member of the Trinity and one of DC’s most important characters, so if she’s going to be part of the Man of Tomorrow, she’d better get a role that reflects her importance.
Warner Bros.’ pending acquisition by Paramount Skydance also complicates things. Recent reports reveal Paramount is already placing restrictions on deals tied to Warner Bros.’ key properties, a category that includes DC Studios and everything operating under the DCU banner. That means Warner Bros. couldn’t keep expanding future theatrical slates until the deal is concluded. The current DCU release calendar is particularly thin, so these rules could explain why DC Studios is not putting new movies in production. Beyond Man of Tomorrow in the summer of 2027, DC Studios is only overseeing the Elseworlds release of The Batman: Part II. Dynamic Duo, which got into development earlier due to stop-motion’s long shooting cycle, also got a date for June 2028, although we still don’t know if this movie is DCU canon or Elseworlds. Under those conditions, folding Wonder Woman into Man of Tomorrow is also a great way of introducing her to the DCU, since her solo film could be delayed further by a merger still tangled in antitrust litigation.
Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 9, 2027.
