Watermelon Pictures has picked up North American rights to Cherien Dabis’ Palestinian family drama All That’s Left of You, Jordan’s selection for best international feature contender for the 2026 Oscars.

The film, which premiered at Sundance, tells a multigenerational story of a family expelled from Jaffa in 1948. When a Palestinian teenager gets swept up into a protest in the Occupied West Bank and experiences a moment of violence that rocks his family, his mother recounts the political and emotional threads that led to that fateful moment.

Watermelon Pictures will co-release All That’s Left Of You together with Dabis’s new production and distribution company Visibility Films. They are planning a theatrical release this fall, positioning the movie for awards season play.

Watermelon inked the deal with The Match Factory, which is handling international sales on the film. Agathe Valentin of Match Factory negotiated the deal with Dabis and Munir Atalla, head of production and acquisitions for Watermelon Pictures.

“We’re thrilled to bring Cherien Dabis’ magnum opus to audiences across North America,” said Atalla. “This epic tale is a generational achievement, one that will continue to echo for decades to come.”

Dabis’ two previous features, Amreeka (2009) and May in the Summer (2013), both debuted at Sundance. Amreeka went on to win the Fipresci international critics prize at Cannes.

“With the film landscape undergoing radical transformation, I’m excited to roll up my sleeves and help shape what comes next by launching my own distribution banner and partnering with one of the boldest new forces in independent and world cinema,” said Dabis. “Watermelon Pictures isn’t just willing to go where others won’t, they recognize the power of a film like mine and are fiercely committed to helping me bring it to as wide an audience as possible. I’m thrilled to be partnering with them.”

In addition to writing and directing, Dabis stars in All That’s Left Of You, alongside real-life father and sons Mohammad Bakri, Saleh Bakri, and Adam Bakri. Dabis also produced, alongside Thanassis Karathanos, Martin Hampel and Karim Amer.
