Laos authorities have rejected expert assistance from Australian Federal Police in investigating the deaths of six tourists, including two Melbourne teenagers, who died from suspected methanol poisoning at a backpackers’ hostel.

Holly’s father Shaun Bowles said: “They weren’t doing anything wrong. They were having having a drink. Having fun. There’s no way to determine if there is methanol in a drink. It is very much a silent killer.”
