US-Iran War Live Updates: Tehran warns it won't accept deal 'just on paper'; Pak PM Sharif lands in Zurich

US-Iran War Live Updates: Negotiations are finally set to begin in Switzerland as delegations from both Iran and the US head to the Bürgenstock resort for talks on implementing the memorandum of understanding.

US Vice President JD Vance, ahead of his departure, said negotiators would seek progress on two key issues — Iran’s nuclear programme and a potential ceasefire in Lebanon — in talks. Mediating countries Pakistan and Qatar will also be present.

The development comes after fresh tensions emerged on Saturday as Iran’s Guards declared the Strait of Hormuz closed, citing Israeli “crimes” in Lebanon. Tehran had stressed ending hostilities on all fronts including Lebanon was key to the deal.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who has also departed for the talks, paid tribute to children killed in Minab and other Iranian war dead, saying their sacrifice would guide every decision taken by the country’s leadership.
