US-Iran War Live Updates: US says it struck 140 Iranian targets after attack on cargo ship in Hormuz
US Central Command launched a third round of strikes on Iran after an alleged IRGC attack on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz. Tensions escalate with threats of revenge and destruction.

US-Iran War Live Updates: US Central Command said it struck Iran after an attack caused a fire aboard the M/V GFS Galaxy, hitting around 140 Iranian targets in the latest round of bombardment. The vessel’s crew subsequently abandoned ship and boarded a lifeboat, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations body.
The strikes came as Iran claimed attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar and Oman, while the UAE said it had responded to Iranian missile and drone attacks of its own. Tehran said its strikes were retaliation for renewed US bombings on cities along its southern coast, as the conflict continued to widen across the Gulf. Adding to the toll at sea, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had hit and stopped a second “offending vessel” in the Strait of Hormuz, warning that continued US-Israeli “aggressions” would trigger “even more devastating” responses.
Iran’s tone hardened further as its top negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, posted a statement on X declaring that the “era of one-sided deals is OVER.” He added: “We told you: keep your word or pay the price. Reality is knocking.”
The competing claims from Washington, Tehran and Abu Dhabi could not be independently verified at the time of writing, and the scale of damage from the reported strikes on Iranian territory remains unconfirmed by independent sources.
