Tower Bridge shut down after man climbs onto railings as emergency services scramble to the scene

Tower Bridge has shut down after a man has climbed up the railings, with emergency services scrambling to the scene.

The individual, who is wearing a grey hoodie and dark trousers, is currently sat on top of of the Grade 1 listed bridge.

It has been reportedly shut down, with traffic and boats sat at a stand still.

Witnesses have shared footage of the incident on social media, which shows the individual sat on a sloping blue arch.

Emergency services are at the scene, with both police officers and firefighters deployed to the popular crossing.

Witnesses have noted that the individual does not appear to be carrying a flag.

Blackwall Tunnel is also closed due to a separate incident.
