Ryanair launches new flight to Spanish ‘sunshine destination’ starting in 2025
Ryanair has announced a new twice-weekly route connecting Teesside International Airport with Spain’s Costa del Sol.
The service between Teesside and Malaga will commence on March 31, 2025, operating through October 23, 2025.
Flights will run every Monday and Thursday, with one-way fares starting from £68.99.
The new Spanish connection comes as part of the regional airport’s continued expansion of holiday destinations.
Monday flights will depart Malaga at 5:50am, landing at Teesside at 8am.
Return services on Mondays will leave Teesside at 8:25am, arriving in Malaga at 12:35pm local time.
Thursday services will operate on a slightly later schedule, with departures from Malaga at 7am and arrivals in Teesside at 9:10am.
The return Thursday flight will take off from Teesside at 9:35am, touching down in Malaga at 1:45pm.
Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen celebrated the new route, saying: “The people of Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool have been asking for more sunshine destinations, and we’ve delivered exactly that with Ryanair’s fantastic support.
“This is a huge win for our airport and our region, but we’re not stopping here. Our goal is to keep growing, breaking records and getting more holiday flights for local people.”
The announcement follows a successful summer season for Ryanair at Teesside, with routes to holiday destinations including Majorca, Faro and Corfu seeing strong demand.
Teesside International Airport has recently made several achievements, recording its highest passenger numbers in 11 years.

The airport was named the favourite small UK airport for leisure travel at the 2023 British Travel Awards.
Currently, airlines including Ryanair and TUI serve the airport with flights to destinations such as Dalaman in Turkey, Corfu in Greece and Majorca in Spain.
The airport has also reported its first pre-tax and interest profit in 12 years.
Plans for further development include a £20million renovation of the airport’s train station, which has been closed since May 2022.
