Rear Admiral Chris Parry has cast doubt on recent reports of Royal Navy submariners rationing food during a six-month patrol.

The Rear Admiral suggested that running out of sweets is not unusual on long deployments.

He quipped to GB News: “Its good for the diet isn’t it!’
