‘Political correctness over justice!’ Ex-police officer fumes over prosecution of marksman who shot Chris Kaba – ‘Doing his duty’
A former police officer has hit out at the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for prosecuting a police sergeant who was “doing his duty” when he shot Chris Kaba.
Harry Miller, founder of FairCop, expressed concern about the impact on the police sergeant, arguing that the CPS chose to “go after” the officer.
Speaking to GB News he said: “I think there is a real tragedy here with regard to the shooting, but the tragedy is not with Chris Kaba as far as I’m concerned.
“The tragedy here is with the poor police sergeant, who has been run ragged and persecuted by a Crown Prosecution Service, who will have known about this gangland man’s past, but who nevertheless chose to persecute, to prosecute, to go after a police sergeant doing his duty.
“And for what? We have no idea, other than the Crown Prosecution Service has decided that signalling political correctness is far more important than justice.
“Police officers are absolutely sick and tired of being asked to do a job that most of us do not want to do, that most of us could not do.”

“And when they do it, they then find themselves at the wrong end of a criminal investigation. I cannot imagine the hell that that sergeant has been through since the shooting.
“I mean, having to take somebody’s life is hell enough. Nobody does that lightly.
“But then to find that the CPS is putting you on trial for doing your job, for doing your duty.
“This is the real tragedy as far as I am concerned.”
Metropolitan Police officer Martyn Blake was cleared of murder at the Old Bailey on Monday.
It also comes as a judge ruled that details of Chris Kaba’s criminal past can now be revealed. Kaba was pictured on CCTV shooting a man on a nightclub dancefloor and was alleged to be a core member of a London gang.
These details were not presented to the jury during the trial, as the judge deemed them irrelevant.
The information about Kaba’s history was released a day after Blake’s acquittal.
Blake, the officer who fired the fatal shot, was unaware of Kaba’s criminal history at the time of the incident.
On the night of the shooting, Blake did not know who was in the Audi Q8.
The vehicle was believed to be linked to a firearms incident from the previous evening.
