Everyone is talking about Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet after the actor made fans swoon by thanking his partner during his acceptance speech at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards. But it wasn’t just his words that caught viewers’ attention—some internet sleuths are now speculating about one of Jenner’s accessories.
Chalamet won Best Actor for his role in Marty Supreme, and before heading to the stage, he was seen sharing a kiss with Jenner in the audience. During his speech, he thanked his fellow nominees, his co-stars, and Josh Safdie, the film’s writer and director, before making a rare and public declaration about his relationship.
“Lastly I’ll just say, thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you, I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he said on stage.
The camera then cut to Jenner, who appeared to mouth, “I love you,” in return, sparking a viral reaction.
The Critics Choice Awards, hosted at the Barker Hangar at Santa Monica Airport in Santa Monica, California, voted on by film and television critics, are widely seen as a key stop on the awards-season circuit. Chalamet’s win marks a strong start to the season for both the actor and Marty Supreme.
The film, released in 2025, is a sports comedy-drama directed by Safdie. It follows Marty Mauser, an aspiring ping-pong champion played by Chalamet, who is loosely based on real-life table tennis legend Marty Reisman.
While Chalamet’s speech dominated headlines, some fans quickly turned their attention to Jenner—specifically, a large diamond ring worn on her pinky finger. Newsweek reached out to Kylie Jenner’s and Timothée Chalamet’s publicists via email outside of their usual working hours.
“I’m not saying they’re engaged…but that IS a rather large diamond to wear on your pinkie… ” wrote Lucy on the Ground on Threads, in a post that garnered more than 715,000 views.
On TikTok, film, TV, and pop culture reporter Jess Lucero (@jessthereporter) also weighed in, sharing a video that surpassed 42,500 views. She captioned the post: “‘Partner; and the ring??? I think they’re already engaged.”
In the video, Lucero reacted to what she described as a dramatic shift in how private Chalamet and Jenner have historically been about their relationship. She noted that Chalamet had previously avoided publicly acknowledging Jenner beyond quietly attending award shows together, before recently commenting orange heart emojis on her social media and now thanking her directly during a major awards ceremony.
Lucero also pointed out the intensity of Marty Supreme’s awards-season campaign, saying that despite criticism of its heavy marketing push, the strategy appeared to be paying off. She highlighted Chalamet’s win against major competitors, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Joel Edgerton and Michael B. Jordan.
She questioned whether the prominent ring signaled an engagement, adding that the size of the diamond was hard to ignore.
However, not everyone was convinced.

Speculation continued on TikTok, where some users remained firmly in the engagement camp.
