On today’s bonus episode, host Kate Lindsay and producer Vic Whitley-Berry talk about yet another scandal on the bookish internet. Business owner Allie Rose – also known as Allie Rose Co. on Instagram – announced earlier this month that she had officially won the trademark to the phrase “Hot Girls Read.” She then asked followers who sold merch “very gently and with peace and love!!!!” to remove their listings containing the phrase. The backlash was resounding and swift, so much so that days later Allie Rose announced she was relinquishing the trademark.
