National Lottery: Most ‘generous’ UK region named where nearly one in four would donate some of their jackpot to charity

A survey has revealed the most “generous” regions across the UK where almost one in four would donate a portion of their jackpot to charity.

The research – collated by betting guide company OLBG – has highlighted the parts of the UK that are more likely to share their winnings with different types of charities, as well as friends and family.

The results indicate that almost one in four (24 per cent) of Northern Irish winners would give “some of their winnings” to charity, if they were lucky enough to scoop up National Lottery winnings.

London – along with the north west and south west of England – tied for second place at 16 per cent.

Yorkshire and Humberside and eastern England have tied for second to last (both 10 per cent).

Scotland and the West Midlands have appeared as the least charitable, as six per cent declared that they would hand some of their prize cash to those in need.
