Jet2 warns Britons of ‘disruptions’ at major airports following stormy conditions hitting the UK
Jet2 has issued a travel warning to customers as Storm Eowyn threatens to disrupt flights across the UK.
The airline’s operations team is actively monitoring weather forecasts for both Sunday 22 and Monday 23 of December 2024.
The warning comes as the Met Office predicts continued stormy conditions across parts of Britain in the coming days.
Whilst Jet2 plans to maintain schedules where possible, the airline has cautioned that deteriorating weather could lead to disruptions.
Jet2 told customers: “If you are travelling with Jet2.com, we plan to operate our flights as close to schedule as possible, however, there may be some disruption should the weather deteriorate.
“We advise all customers to check in as scheduled (our check-in desks close 40 minutes prior to scheduled departure times) and our friendly Red Teams in the terminal will keep you up to date.”
The airline said that if flights are delayed, they will be in contact with impacted fliers through text or email.
Jet2 has asked customers to ensure their contact details are up-to-date on their website so they can contact them if their flight is disrupted.
The airline added: “We will, where possible, board all flights for an on-time departure, however, please be prepared for a longer than normal wait either in the terminal or onboard the aircraft to depart.
“Jet2.com would like to apologise in advance for any disruption you may experience.
“Your comfort and safety is our number one priority, we will have you on the way as soon as possible.”
Jet2 is not the only airline to issue a travel warning with the risks that Storm Eowyn is imposing on flights across the UK.

The airline wrote “[There are] potential disruptions to and from the UK (Sun 22 December) due to Storm Eowyn.
“Affected passengers will be notified and any passengers travelling to and from the UK on Sun 22 December should check their Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight.
“We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by Storm Eowyn, which is outside of Ryanair’s control and affects all airlines operating to and from the UK on Sun 22 December.”
