Jet2 flight makes emergency landing as passengers left ‘vomiting’ after ‘loud bang’ and ‘burning chemical smell’

A Jet2 flight was forced to make an emergency landing after passengers were left “vomiting” after a “loud bang” and “burning chemical smell” seeped through the aircraft.

The flight was scheduled to head to Manchester from Antalya in Turkey after taking off at 11.45pm on Tuesday.

However, it was forced to return just an hour and a half after taking off.

A passenger claimed she heard a “loud bang” shortly after take-off, with a “burning chemical smell” soon following after.

She told Manchester Evening News: “Quite a few passengers were vomiting.”

The woman added: “People sat near left wing looking out of window, vomiting and unable to put feet on floor. Hardly any info given which made it worse.”

A flight map shows the plane turning back shortly after leaving the popular holiday resort.

The map showed an abrupt change in flight course.
