Spoilers ahead for those who haven’t read the Heated Rivalry books.

Do not panic! Okay, maybe a little bit is justified. There might be a third Heated Rivalry book on the way. On the Barnes & Noble website, there is a seventh book in the Game Changers series, seemingly coming out on September 19. 2026. There is no formal announcement yet, as there isn’t any cover art on the pre-order webpage, but we do have an idea of what the story might be about. “For the first time in their professional hockey careers, Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander have nothing to hide,” the description reads. “For more than a decade, they kept their love a secret, but now they’re out, married, and even playing on the same team.” While it seems like a happily ever after for the couple, they have a new villain brewing: podcasters.

Author Rachel Reid has not confirmed or denied that a new book is coming soon, but in the FAQ section of her website, she says, “Ilya and Shane have never left my brain, so I think writing more about them is inevitable.” Plus, with the success of the Heated Rivalry show, it would be a good idea to have more material ready for future seasons. Reid does have an upcoming event in Nova Scotia next week, so hopefully she’ll be able to formally put the rumors to rest then.
