Gwyneth Paltrow impressively proved that minimalism is anything but boring on the Oscars 2026 red carpet. While most stars opted for opulent couture gowns with glitter, feathers, and the like, the actor appeared in a look that seemed almost simple at first glance… Look again.
Paltrow had two good reasons to be at the Academy Awards: The actor was on hand to present at the event, and her latest movie, Marty Supreme, was nominated in the Best Picture category. So naturally, she needed an eye-catching red carpet look for such a night. And boy, did she deliver.

Gwyneth Paltrow wore a minimalist white silk dress by Armani Privé to the 2026 Oscars. The floor-length, strapless dress looks classically elegant from the front: clean lines, a straight silhouette, and no superfluous details.
But a closer look will reveal why this is actually one of the boldest fashion moments of the 2026 Oscars. Look to the side, and you’ll see an extremely high slit at the side that runs the entire length of the dress. The result? It gives the minimalist design a surprisingly dramatic—and daring—touch. Take a look, below.

A nice twist: the nude-colored insert that peeks out from the slit. It’s adorned with crystals to make the naked moment look elegant and red-carpet worthy.
In keeping with the clean style of the dress, Gwyneth Paltrow also kept the rest of her look deliberately minimalist. She combined pointed white pumps with diamond jewelry from Tiffany & Co., which included a platinum and yellow gold necklace with a yellow diamond, matching earrings, and a ring.
Gwyneth Paltrow wore her blonde hair straight and to the side over her shoulders, while her make-up was kept natural too—the right balance for a minimalist statement look.
