Expert issues warning that there will be ‘more mysterious objects in the skies’ in coming days: ‘Don’t have clarity from the US government!’
A cyber security expert has warned that drone sightings across the United States are likely to increase dramatically after the Christmas holidays.
Jeffrey Wells, a fellow at the National Security Institute’s Cyber and Technology Center, told GBN America: “There’s something in the sky. They’re either commercial, they’re government, they’re foreign adversary or they’re something else.
“This is certainly going to get worse next week after the holidays here in the United States on Christmas Day, a bunch of people are going to be getting drones.
“They’re going to be sending these things up. I think for three days at least everybody’s going to be flying them.
“They’re going to be looking for things and people are going to see them and say, My God, the sky is now full of drones. That’s just going to add to the problem of what’s up there.”
The warning comes amid widespread reports of unexplained drone sightings across multiple US states, which have already prompted airport closures and military base alerts.

Wells also raised concerns about transparency from US authorities regarding the aerial phenomena.
“We don’t have enough clarity from the US government”, he said, pointing to decades of reported sightings.
The cyber expert noted that credible witnesses, including astronauts and individuals with strong backgrounds, have reported unexplained aerial encounters over the past 50-60 years.
Wells said: “Some of this may be secret test equipment from the past, but this increase of sighting, this new openness to begin to discuss it, but not enough to really show truly what’s in the book.”
He added: “I think it’s silly to believe that we’re the only creatures in the universe.”
His comments come as authorities continue to investigate numerous drone sightings across the northeastern United States.
Recent drone sightings have been reported across multiple US states, including New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Virginia.
President Joe Biden has sought to calm public concerns, stating the incidents are “nothing nefarious”.
“We’re following this closely, but so far, no sense of danger”, Biden told reporters.
The sightings, which began in mid-November, have led to temporary closures of Stewart International Airport in New York and Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
New Jersey resident Noel Thomas described spotting a mysterious object “the size of a school bus” with blinking lights.
President-elect Donald Trump has suggested the government “knows what is happening” but is withholding information, though he added he “can’t imagine it’s the enemy”.
