There were more than 2,000 Salmonella infections in January to March this year in England, but Campylobacter cases declined.

Figures from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) show non-typhoidal Salmonella laboratory reports in the first quarter of 2024 slightly increased from 1,541 to 1,588 in Q1 2025. There was a large increase of 27.2 percent to 2,020 in Q1 2026.
